Welcome to San Francisco Opera's 75th Season and our redesigned website! This is an exciting time for our Company as we return to the newly renovated War Memorial Opera House after a wonderful season in other venues. We celebrate the1997/98 Season with a spectacular Gala Concert on September 5 followed by nine great operas through January 18. Our season features three new productions, a Company premiere, and a roster of some of the world's finest performers, many in local and national debuts.
To recognize our special season, our website has been completely redesigned and many new features added. There is an opera quiz to test your knowledge of opera lore, an expanded archival section filled with rare historical photos, RealAudio sound samples from the operas on our season, plus artist biographies, opera synopses and our program articles online. And we are adding new features all the time! Beginning in August, single tickets go on line through a secure purchasing system. This will be helpful whether you are planning a trip to San Francisco from across the globe or from across town.
